Brett and Jane Brogan have a love affair with Scotland, starting of course with the Border Collie.
The term Dog & Whistle derives from our affinity for Scotland, starting with our first visit when we married in the Scottish Highlands in the town of Oban, County Argyll.
Other visits included a holiday on a working sheep farm where Jane and her dog, Slip, won a herding trial and hiking the West Highland Way, a 95 mile way-marked trail from Glasgow to Fort William.
The Dog & Whistle, working through a network of animal shelters and rescue organizations, have fostered and placed hundreds of Border Collies into loving homes. Most dogs that come into rescue readily fit into a typical family lifestyle. Some rescue dogs are additionally suited for agility competition, sheep herding, and, lo and behold, goose control work. These are the more energetic, obsessive, and compulsive dogs, and we love them so!
